Hardscapes Chinick Landscaping & Nursery Located in the heart of Portland Metro Area, Chinick Landscaping & Nursery humbly allows their design, "Hardscapes," to showcase how form and function can play together beautifully. Here one gets to see how an unremarkable backyard once looked, and how such a space can be turned into a magnificent outdoor refuge, complete with gorgeous natural stone and venerable paver patios, walkways, and retaining walls. This emphasized the importance of locally sourced materials that blend into the local landscape and will stand the test of time. We had to deal with challenging grading and drainage because of the uneven terrain, but our team was up to the task. By developing and implementing a strategic plan, we were able to add richness and movement at eye-level while resolving surface water to mitigate undermining of the hardscape. The end result is a beautiful mix of textures and colors begging the client to host friends and family around the fire or find solace in the sun. From the graceful meandering paths to the thoughtfully placed seating areas, each aspect was purposefully designed and manifested for beauty and utility. The client was thrilled with the results, remarking the new hardscapes have become the centerpiece of their outdoor living area.
