Iron Gateway The Iron Gateway A True Transformation of Outdoor Space in the Denver Metro area by American Design & Landscape Reflecting the level of care which we take in traditional model making and our innovative design process, this work is both functional and beautiful. At the center of the Iron Gateway is a wrought iron gate with an ornate design which provides a secure entry point, and the framework provides separation from the entrance. Adding to this dominating feature, we designed a careful palette of native Colorado species of perennial and shrub plant material that would be low-maintenance, drought-tolerant while also providing texture in the landscape. In this case, there were some specific challenges, like the uneven terrain that required better drainage solutions. By utilizing a multi-tiered retaining wall constructed with natural stone readily available locally our experts were able to solve these challenges while also enhancing the landscape with some earth stability and rustic character. We also installed subtle landscape lighting in the surrounding gardens lighting the gate, producing a warm welcome at night. The Iron Gateway is dramatic all right, its final result. This union of stone, iron and vegetation has given the property a welcoming atmosphere. Ease of getting from in to out of their home, and the street appeal provided to the front of their home through the Iron Gateway, brought our clients great joy with their new outdoor space!
