Pinecrest Gardens by SAVINO MILLER DESIGN STUDIO Pinecrest Gardens is a beautiful landscape located in the heart of Miami and an excellent demonstration of the work of Savino Miller Design Studio. This landscaping was designed to complement the lush tropical climate and the vibrant local plant material, creating an outdoor extension of beauty and functionality. The featured an engaging mix of native plants such as colorful hibiscus, fragrant jasmine, and sturdy palms, selected to thrive in the unique environment of South Florida. We were excited to introduce organic stone pathways and beautiful granite boulders that invite the visitor through the garden while providing an organic flow throughout the site. The raised garden beds were made of reclaimed wood, confirming rustic beauty and furthering the narrative of sustainable practices, consistent with the recent trend of eco-friendly landscaping. As with all meaningful designs, we chased many challenges during the , including the varied topography of the site and existing drainage challenges. Our team was able to develop a drainage strategy that addressed the pooling of water while ensuring that the sustainability of the design was preserved. We also included permeable pavers in the patio area, allowing water to filter through, while creating a stylistic outdoor space with great functionality. In the end, our efforts created a beautiful outdoor retreat, with a relaxing koi pond, a ritualistic fire pit, and shaded seating for socializing and safe gatherings. The client was thrilled with the seamless integration of both program and elements in their backyard oasis. Beyond a yard, Pinecrest Gardens is a weathered experience that reflects our clients' vision and lifestyle, while allowing Savino Miller Design Studio to build a narrative of quality, creativity, sustainability, and ecologically responsible design. This not only creates value for this property, but also enhances the lives of those who enjoy it, to represent the embodiment of sophisticated outdoor living in Miami.
