Sunset Park Residence Located in the center of Los Angeles, the Sunset Park Residence showcases the talent and skill of GEL: Griffin Enright Landscape. This ambitious landscape transformed a traditional residential yard into a peaceful outdoor retreat that balances elegance and nature. The design features a curated collection of drought-tolerant plants chosen to maximize Southern California's climate while minimizing water use. Native succulents and colorful flowering perennials create a beautiful visual experience that enhances the modern architecture of the home. Quality materials were utilized throughout, including locally sourced stone for pathways and seating areas that harmonize with the lush plants. One of the challenges was the sloping topography of the site. The team's experienced sod-layered his or graded the landscape to make tiered gardens that provided proper drainage while enhancing layers and interest to the design. A beautiful custom pergola is a focal point of the garden and offers a shaded escape once the vines grow over time. The result is a successful integration of form and function which creates an inviting space for the clients to feel relaxed their home and enhances the beauty of their home. They now have a colorful, vernacular landscape that represents them while improving their connection to nature.
