About This Project

Garden Paths + Patios by Kate Martin Design Located in the Metro Seattle Area, Kate Martin Design has recently reached successful completion on a new landscaping , Garden Paths + Patios. The primary intent of this was to convert an undernourished outdoor landscape into a beautiful retreat that elegantly blends function and beauty. The design incorporates a beautiful series of meandering garden paths built of local, hand-cut natural stone which encourages a flowing experience throughout the landscape, while permeable pavers enhance the overall appearance of the landscaping and meet sustainable drainage goals. Along the paths, flower beds are placed just right with native plantings that add color, as well as attract local pollinators. An obstacle we encountered in the was the substantial slope of the landscape, which required some inventive grading solutions. Our experienced team carefully leveled the ground while maintaining the existing root systems of several well-established trees, resulting in a naturalistic experience while honoring the ecology of the site. The final aspect of the was an enormous patio area, meant for sitting and entertaining, which was built from composite decking material and is durable and weather-resistant. The patio is accented with stylish outdoor furniture and an elegant, custom-built fire pit, creating a cozy environment for hanging out. Upon completion of this , the clients couldn't believe how beautifully the turned out. In addition to aesthetics, the garden paths and patios created a functional outdoor living space that inspires connection.
