Harvest Moon - Rock Spring Design Group LLC Located in the heart of Fairfield County, Rock Spring Design Group LLC's 'Harvest Moon' by David Verespy, ASLA, beautifully merged the natural world with artistry. The client's description of an outdoor space that mirrored the beauty of a moonlit harvest led to this landscape makeover in Westport. The scope of work included a thoughtfully designed plan that consisted of large native plant gardens, meandering pathways, and a fountain as the centerpiece. The pathways and seat walls were fabricated with stone obtained from local quarries that contributed to the ornamental aspect of the landscape design as well as reinforced each element's relationship to the natural spaces around it. This overcame the challenges of slope and elevation changes through terracing that provides a level space for plantings and assembly. It was a balance of beauty and practicality. The landscape design included select plants that offered seasonal blooms to create interest year-round, while also emphasizing plants with drought resistance to promote sustainability in the landscape. The application of custom light fixtures transformed the entirety of the property in the evening, providing a warm glow that beckoned nighttime enjoyment and accentuated the plantings. The final outcome was a dramatic landscape that exceeded the client's expectation and created a harmonious balance of serenity to space and the elegance of the natural environment.
