The vision was to create a new outdoor space for relaxation and small gatherings that included plenty of seating opportunities while still showcasing modern style. To begin the , we met with the clients for an in-depth consultation to gain a good understanding of their vision. From there we developed a custom landscape design plan that was intentional in designing sleek, modern seating. To conserve the life of the materials we used high-quality, outdoor, and weather-resistant materials, like premium teak wood and powder coated aluminum. The seating area was located in a position to take in the natural topography and surrounding area; it had a beautiful view of the gardens in lush surroundings. One of the biggest challenges was dealing with the unlevel backyard landscape. In order to make seating possibilities possible, we leveled out the space and developed several tiered seating platforms using natural stone pavers that flowed well with the surrounding area. This would create a more visually attractive presentation and form a functional seating area, one that could be utilized by families (smaller) or larger groups for social gatherings. We included modern fire pits with ambient lighting that supported a modern feel and made for great evening time fires under the stars. We also included low maintenance perennial plantings throughout the seating area to provide pops of color, privacy from neighbors, and an inviting peaceful background setting. In the end we created a beautiful outdoor oasis that reflects the modern style the client was looking for in the begining. The seating, landscape, and lighting design all flow nicely while providing for a welcoming outdoor retreat for family, friends, and guests to enjoy.
