How Greensand Plus Media Works

Oxidation and Filtration

Greensand Plus media oxidizes the metals and sulfide compounds that are dissolved in the water passing through it, causing the metals and sulfides to digibve and become solid particles that are filtered out in the water. This is particularly useful for water with:

Iron staining

• Rotten egg odor (hydrogen sulfide)
• Heavy metal (arsenic and radium) contamination
• Broad pH Range Efficiency

One of the big benefits of Greensand Plus is that it performs equally as well in situations in which the pH is low versus high, so you don't have to adjust your pH before installation.

Chemical Regeneration with Permanganate

Batch Potassium Permanganate Regeneration

These systems incorporate a batch regeneration process using potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) to re-energize the Greensand Plus media and maintain filtration through the system. A specially designed 10"x16" feeder tank supplied with each system, injects the oxidant during the regeneration cycle.

5-Cycle Control Operation

Every machine features a 5-stage cycle to guarantee that the entire system is regenerated and able to operate dependably:

Simple to use and program, the 5800SXT valve also provides a digital metered based on a backlit LCD display. It provides control of cycle timing, flow rates, and regeneration schedules with accuracy.

Fleck 2510CC (120V)

A 2510CC is ideal for batch systems and known for reliability with the power to perform continuous cycles for even the largest demands. It operates off a regular 120V cable.

Fleck 2510SXT

This Digital Control Valve has the same metering capabilities as the 5800SXT, but with a heavy duty construction for less than ideal conditions. That is it is a mix of simplicity and advanced automation.
