Description

Product Description The ULTRAMAX 860 is a high quality, high performance, well designed water softening system that consistently removes hardness from the water. Built by Good Water Warehouse, the core of this system is durability, safety, and conditioning performance. Installed in homes and light commercial applications, the system delivers high-quality softened water and is built to operate at a maximum service flow rate throughout the full range of system applications.

Its cycle features multiple stages that use advanced valve control to clean, rinse, regenerate and refresh the resin bed for continuous maximum performance and long-lasting media life.

Safety Precautions and Installation Guidelines

Refer to the following important safety precautions before using.

Never lay the media tank on its side. It should be stored in an upright position - tilting or turning the machine on its side could result in resin media entering the valve system.

Do not drop or hit the unit to avoid damage to the unit both internally and externally.

When adding media to the tank, fill at a low rate. Do not open the water valve all the way or media will flow out of tank abruptly.

Do not use rock salt, ice melt, or block salt use only regenerant salt for water softeners.

Follow your local and state laws regarding water testing and treatment. Do not use untreated or microbiologically contaminated water.

Join all heated or glued plumbing fittings initially. Give plastic parts sufficient time to cool and cure before the parts with O-rings or valves are installed.

Be careful not to get any solvents or primers on any plastic parts of the system during installation.

These instructions are created to provide long-term performance and prevent typical installation errors.

Operating Parameters

It is ideally suited to handle the following conditions: UltraMax 860 The UltraMax 860 has been Engineered to operate at peak efficiency when:

  • Operating temperature: 34°F to 120°F (1°C to 49°C)
  • Working water temperature: 34°F to 100°F (1°C to 38°C)
  • Operating Pressure Range: 20 120 psi (1.38 8.27 bar)
  • Canadian water pressure range: 20 - 100 psi (1.38 - 6.89 bar)

These parameters offer a broad operation window which can fit multiple climates and plumbing conditions.

System Operation Cycle Overview

The ULTRAMAX 860 functions via a six-stage regeneration process designed for uninterrupted conditioning of your water:

Service (Downflow)

Raw water passes down through the resin bed and the calcium and magnesium are exchanged for sodium. Conditioned water leaves the riser tube as softened water for domestic purposes.

Backwash (Upflow)

Water, in the opposite direction, then flows up through the resin to flush out debris, silt and accumulated treatment chemicals. This movement rounds out the bed and flushes waste towards the waste.

Brine/Slow Rinse (Downflow)

When regenerating, brine solution is sucked out of the salt tank and is passed in a downward direction through the resin. Hardness ions are displaced by sodium ions and flushed down the riser tube to the drain.

Rebuild -Repressurization (Hard Water Bypass Flapper Open)

This specific cycle control equalizes pressure on the internal valves and allows any residual air in the system to escape, which ensures even regeneration performance every time.

Fast Rinse (Downflow)

The resin is easily rinsed down with water to clear it of any brine or other residue. This action prepares the bed for the subsequent service cycle.

Brine Refill

A pre-measured amount of water enters the regenerant tank, creating the right brine solution" for the next regeneration cycle.

Final Words

Good Water Warehouse The ULTRAMAX 860 is leading the way in safe, high-performance water softening technology. Lowering of Hardness Designed with carefully engineered cycle stages and necessary safety precautions, it provides a consistent hardness reduction, resin life, and performance, even with ever-changing water conditions. No matter where in your home you need soft water, whether you are replacing/remodeling or installing a new system, this model is ideal for providing your entire home with soft water 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, in addition to its other benefits for current water treatment applications.
