Summary: Hemi Hideout McDugald-Steele is pleased to introduce the Hemi Hideout, a landscaping that reflects our beliefs in creativity and quality in outdoor design. Located in the heart of River Oaks in a community surrounded by other notable neighborhoods, this maximizes elegance and function. The Hemi Hideout showcases a magnificent planting of natives that emphasize both beauty and sustainability. We included plenty of lush plants, flowering shrubs, and ornamental grasses that create a landscape with color and texture throughout the seasons. We incorporated a rustic, naturally laid stone pathway courtesy of a local limestone provider that took visitors through the garden, enhancing the natural flow of the garden while giving guests a functional, durable, and aesthetically pleasing route. This had many challenges, but one of the largest was achieving the existing topography along with the client's suggestion of creating a private escape. After discussing with the client, our designer-staff and field crew took it upon themselves to install tiered planting beds to upgrade the structure of the landscaping and improve drainage and soil health. Between the intentional placement of boulders and natural stone features, we find balance between hardscape and softscape while enhancing the natural beauty of the area. To ensure the outdoor space is functional, we incorporated a cozy gathering area, seating, and a firepit, allowing for get-togethers, gatherings, and quiet time for reading. As with all our s, we ensured to leave the waterproofed and eco-friendly, utilizing sustainable products and irrigation systems where possible. The result is a place of incredible tranquility that has permitted the clients to experience their backyard not just as a backyardmore as an escape. It not only met the expectations of the clients, but also provided a place for family get-togethers and quiet time with a book. The Hemi Hideout served as a stage for us to display our workmanship and quality of craft that McDugald-Steele Landscaping is known for, not only in Bellaire and Bunker Hill Village, but beyond. Our landscaping expertise led us to create an experiential that embodies the essence of outdoors.
