About This Project

Menchaca Residence by Garza Concepts Located in the Coachella Valley, the Menchaca Residence demonstrates the art and coolness of Garza Concepts in taking outdoor space to another level of beauty. The Menchaca Residence is also a testament to our commitment to providing a quality and innovative outdoor space for the active community of Bermuda Dunes, Palm Desert, and beyond. The design incorporates native desert plants to provide sustainability while enhancing the natural appeal of the land. We chose to use plants that would be drought-resistant in nature and showcase some color such as; agave plants, succulents, and vibrant bougainvilleas, to form a beautiful landscape that can thrive in the desert. Natural stone was utilized to form walking paths and use of decomposed granite to provide a natural appeal and access to all space in the large yard. As we advanced in developing the property we had to manage uneven grading and consider retaining walls to avoid erosion. To overcome the challenges of uneven grading, we implemented our staff’s creativity to develop a tiered garden that provided both function and interest. We successfully developed areas of relaxation and entertainment. The focal point of the Menchaca Residence is an inviting outdoor living area that consists of a fire pit and a shaded pergola creating a space for families to gather or sit outdoors in the evenings at night under the stars. The end product was a mixture of beauty and functional items, and the landscape supported the architectural style of the home. The clients expressed gratification by stating the new outdoor space was their new favorite place in the home. At Garza Concepts, we strive to obtain extraordinary landscapes that our clients love.
