This catered to the residents of Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Francisco, San Mateo, Atherton, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Portola Valley, Larkspur, Kentfield, Belvedere, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Saratoga. Marin Hilltop illustrates our abilities to create places outside that connect with both nature and the homeowners. The existing site had significant and loosely compacted slopes, as well as exposed rock. Our team evaluated the challenges of working with a steep and rocky site, and chose to use retaining walls made of locally quarried granite to create tiered garden beds that are both functional and beautiful. Additionally, we chose all drought-tolerant and native planting, so that our design could be sustainable, yet filled with color and texture throughout the seasons. A delightful water feature was designed with a waterfall that spilled into a pond at the bottom. The water feature was designed to highlight the garden, to also engage the local wildlife, and emphasized the reflective quality of a natural oasis for the homeowner. A combination of natural stone pathways enhanced the landscape and allowed for easy movement through the garden, as well as facilitation of outdoor lighting to enhance after-dark enjoyment of the landscape. Our team of talented landscape designers needed to merge modern design with contextual landscape use to get the best views of the indoor-outdoor connection with the home. The final result is a stunning retreat that honors the design and lifestyle of the client. Marin Hilltop is brimming with vitality from the greenery, rich textures, and beautiful hardscaping to elevate curb appeal, while bettering the area and quality of living.
