Mountain Home Modern Terra Ferma Landscapes is excited to introduce the 'Mountain Home Modern', a beautiful landscaping that blends contemporary design with the amazing natural beauty of the site. Located in the stunning hills of Atherton, this demonstrates our dedication to providing quality craftsmanship and unique landscaping. The design incorporates a number of key items including the beautiful stone patio made of locally sourced basalt to help transition from indoors to expansive outdoor living. Custom cedar planters were designed to accommodate California plant varieties to enhance biodiversity as part of a modern home. A water feature with a simple linear fountain not only helps to create tranquility in the space, but also captivates the eye and ear. One of the biggest challenges we had was the topography on the site with sloping land and rocky outcrops. Our team managed the slope with a tiered garden that enhanced useable area, depth and dimension to the landscape. We also introduced sustainable materials, such as permeable pavers, in the driveway to provide better drainage. The outcomes of this are spectacular as the design feels cohesive with a beautiful outdoor living space that embodies the client's vision of a modern mountain retreat. The thoughtful choices of plants, successful hardscape placement, and overall design made the property into a gorgeous landscape that our clients love and blends well with the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
