'Contemporary Ranch House' by Terra Ferma Landscapes Located in the heart of Burlingame,' Contemporary Ranch House', by Terra Ferma Landscapes, is outstanding modern landscaping at its best - blending the architectural beauty of the home, with functionality for outdoor living.I worked with clients across the Bay Area (San Francisco to Atherton) to create seamless spaces with both beauty and function. The design includes thoughtful hardscape design, as natural stone pavers smoothly transition from the larger patio into inviting pathways. Custom-built cedar fencing provides privacy, while respecting the ranch-style architecture of the human scale, and adds warmth to the garden aesthetic. The garden utilizes native plants that are drought tolerant, resilient and provide low-maintenance, sustainable beauty. Our clients' property also slopes quite a bit, which we carefully addressed by having tiered kitchen garden beds done by our talented team that added visual interest and improved drainage for the soil. Another key piece in the design is a dramatic water feature that provides an visual focal point, tranquil experience and attracts local animals. The outcome is an inspiring landscape that is contemporary, yet embraces the natural surroundings. The clients were very happy with their new outdoor space that provides a place for family gatherings and moments of simply being alone.
