December Checklist by Le Jardinet As winter settles in, Le Jardinet specifically executed an original landscaping called the "December Checklist" which set out to refresh outdoor living areas for homes to experience throughout the winter months. In conjunction with Evans Florist, we began giving residential properties in and around the communities of Ames Lake, Bellevue, Carnation (and beyond) not only beauty, but practical livability during an otherwise dormant season. This featured a thoughtful selection of winter-hardy plants and evergreen shrubs for live, seasonal color and year-round appeal. In addition, our team prioritized native plants such as heather and ornamental grasses as they provide benefit beyond texture adding local habitat, contributing towards sustainability goals. We carefully constructed natural stone and gravel pathways and steps along the front of the homes, blended with nature, inviting exploration, and appreciate being outside, even in December! As is typical with winter preparation, weather presented a complication - unexpected, inclement conditions resulting in some quick planning adjustments, decisions on scheduling, and safety plans for operations - while still delivering a quality of work. Advanced planning, selecting durable materials, and completing resilience installations for winter, even in unpredictable weather. The final result was a breath-taking finish that made the client smile. An inviting, usable, and colorful winter landscape not only adorning the curb appeal of the homes for the holiday gatherings, but is also backs up the beautiful "December Checklist" we build outdoor seasonal living space, transforming as one of the clients called it "the best Christmas gift" and sets the tone for the rest of the winter.
