Textural Woodland Glade This 'Textural Woodland Glade' in Great Falls is a breathtaking example of the beauty of nature paired with expert craftsmanship by Landscape Design Associates. This large scale re-landscaping welcomed the forest which was already there, highlighting its natural beauty and making sure that the ecosystem stayed intact. Native plants including ferns, wildflowers and ornamental grasses were chosen for their seasonal interest and ease of care and included in a diverse palette. Using plantings that form layers with taller trees such as Eastern Redbud above understory shrubs such as Dogwood contributes to a rich accelerating tapestry of color and texture over all seasons, creating depth and mystery. The site has a beautiful natural topography composed of gentle slopes and different varieties of soil types, and again, this presented one of the more critical challenges we faced. With erosion in mind, our drainage solutions were painstakingly engineered in their composition permeable paths crafted of crushed stone and repurposed wood provide a natural route through the area while enabling it to maintain a balanced water content. At the heart of the glade lies a gentle stream of crafted trail that encourages meandering with boulders and timber seating crafted from sustainably sourced timber. Not only do these elements serve a purpose, but they are also camouflaged among the landscape and make for a great nook to sit and relax or even reflect on all things nature. We have a stunning lyrical and a tranquil outdoor escape, that truly resonates with the client being our dream landscape of an outdoor sanctuary as the ultimate desire outcome of 'Textural Woodland Glade'. The glade provides a peaceful space for family gatherings and moments of solitude amidst the calming sounds of nature. The client was extremely happy with the outcome and hailed the attention to detail and the seamlessness of the landscape with its natural elements.
