Michael McCulloh / McCulloh Associates via ASLA And our job was to convert a cramped, unused area into a lively little space for relaxing and socializing. It included an appealing mix of native plantswith grasses and flowering perennial species intended for both durability and low maintenance. We added a stylish, permeable paver patio, eradicating water problems that have plagued the area while providing a welcoming lounge space. A built-in bench made of sustainably sourced cedaran element I designed myselfbrought warmth and comfort. A disadvantage we were truly susceptible to was how encumbered the land is with other building blocking most of the Sun and wind. To this, we applied the sensibility of layering where plants in the canopy that would outcompete in size were planted carefully so that moist and shade loving plants could prosper alongside juicy, sun hungry plants. Low-voltage led lighting was also installed to accentuate the area in the evenings and bring the space alive after dark. The end product was a dense urban jungle that turned out better than our client's wildest dreams. The combination of landscaping, seating, and the creative modernization provided a center for serenity amongst the hustle and bustle of the city, where the client and their guests can appreciate nature and relax. Landscape Design Associates exemplifies craftsmanship, quality, and sustainability in this that forms a gorgeous, functional setting for the residence and complements the Greater Great Falls landscape.
