Corten and Eucalyptus Expressed by Uncommon Gardens Set in the striking topography of Napa Valley, the 'Corten and Eucalyptus' created by Uncommon Gardens represents a flourishing approach to design and craftsmanship. Serving American Canyon, Sonoma, Vallejo, and regional areas, this is a unique experience involving the rustic quality of Corten steel and the crisp sophistication of eucalypt trees and provides an outdoor experience. The began with a full inventory of the landscape; where our team found exactly what the site invited to be in line with the regional physiognomy and climate. The primary feature is an artistic Corten retaining wall; the wall supports the landscapes while being the instant focal point. The weathered look of the Corten deliberately works in contrast to the vibrant greens and subtle silver of the eucalyptus trees that were installed to provide not only shade, but an aesthetic element on site. We also needed to address the local challenges of heavy rain and an efficient method of drainage within the site. Ultimately, our experienced team overcame this when we installed a series of French drains that harmoniously integrated into the landscape and preserved the delicate eco-system. The also provide native drought-resistant plants that conserve resources and require little maintenance. The combination of the Corten planters with an irregular stone path create options for the visitors and encourages them to enjoy the experience. The final product is an experience of modern materials and natural beauty, a suited place to find peace and provide sensory satisfaction.
