The Alexander Residence by Uncommon Gardens The Alexander Residence is a beautiful property in Napa Valley, California, showcasing the design and craftsmanship of Uncommon Gardens. This transformative landscaping was both accomplished to enhance the natural beauty aspect of the property as well as create a space for homeowners to enjoy an outdoor oasis. The gardens featured a vibrant mixture of native plants, drought tolerant landscaping, and elegant hardscaping. Natural stone walkways are set amongst lush garden beds, inviting the homeowner to lose themselves in exploration and relaxation. Our team specifically chose materials from local suppliers to ensure the sustainability aspect and integrate the within its environment, through the use of reclaimed wood for the functional raised beds or decomposed granite. An extensive challenge in this was the steep nature of the land, and our landscape architects developed a creative terracing solution that stabilizes the slope while displaying a stunning aesthetic element of garden levels. The terracing design raised the drainage issue as well as provided additional room for the homeowner to enjoy fruit trees and flowering shrubs that bloom each season. The final product is nothing short of stunning. The Alexander Residence is now home to lush gardens that embrace the local ecology while acting as a destination to retreat to for the family. From a cozy sitting area framed with infusing lavender to the sounds of the design-water element, we have carefully crafted every detail, inspiring peace and connection to the property. The family was delighted with their improvement of their property, and appreciated the quality of the work and attention to detail.
