Plantings at Uncommon Gardens - Located in the stunning landscapes of Napa Valley, Uncommon Gardens is pleased to report the finalization of a recently installed d “Plantings” where the outdoor space of a private residence was transformed into a vibrant and flourishing botanical paradise. Serving the vibrant communities of American Canyon, Napa, Sonoma, Vallejo, and beyond, Uncommon Gardens continues to build a strong reputation for successful aesthetics, product quality, creative solutions, and sustainable practices. The client commissioned us to create a relaxing garden maintained by these native plants that would thrive in the region, all while emphasizing the natural beauty surrounding their home. After carefully selecting drought resistant species, our team incorporated local flora such as California Poppies, Lavender, and Sage to evoke a sense of place similar to the native landscapes. Furthermore, the use of permeable pathways made from decomposed granite offered sustainable practices while introducing a user-friendly rustic charm. As with any landscaping , we faced some challengesuneven terrain. Although it made for a tricky site design, our innovative team of landscape architects constructed tiered garden beds to allow for proper drainage and soil retention, while making for a beautiful aesthetic, visual interest, and ease of access. All garden beds have online contour line and elevation to produce both balance and beautiful aesthetic frames of reference. Throughout the whole outdoor space are benches formally placing guests in inviting arrangements for enjoying productive garden beds. The finished product was one that emulated a garden for the enjoyment of the family, all the while acting as a habitat for native wildlife to engage the space. The recently completed Plantings presents a wonderful outdoor experience while providing features of sustainable practices.
