Hilltop Retreat by Uncommon Gardens High in stunning hills that overlook Napa Valley, the Hilltop Retreat by Uncommon Gardens turned an unremarkable space into an outdoor sanctuary. Gracing the vibrant communities of American Canyon, Napa, Sonoma, Vallejo, Yountville, Calistoga, Pope Valley, Deer Park, St. Helena, Rutherford, Santa Rosa and Angwin, this is another example of our commitment to quality and craftsmanship. At the heart of this retreat is a multi-tiered terrace garden crafted entirely from locally sourced stone that relates beautifully to the natural landscape. Each terrace is planted out with a selection of drought tolerant native plants to ensure beauty and sustainability throughout every month of the year. The slopes of the hill presented some challenges, but our team addressed them with an innovative drainage system to manage rainwater moving through the property and to distribute to the plants. In addition to the terraces, we used reclaimed wood to create winding paths across the property that invite the visitor to wander among the greenery. We also added a water feature with a natural stone fountain with the intent that the retreat would be a calming destination as well as a beautiful garden. LED lighting is installed to highlight key landscape features so that the authentic beauty of the retreat shines through after the sun sets. The end result is, both for our clients and for us, an exquisite union of nature and artistry. Our clients are thrilled that they can escape the day in their newly-attended garden throughout the year. The Hilltop Retreat is not a simple landscaping ; it is the sum of the best of Uncommon Gardensthe ability to transform outdoor spaces into personal paradises, elevating the beauty of Napa Valley while addressing the enigmatic challenges of unique landscapes.
