To kick off the , the Premiere team performed a complete evaluation of the site to make sure it would feel and act the way we wanted it to. Our team wanted to take advantage of the sloping yard, so we developed a plan to create a multi-level space with a custom raised patio. The patio is made with durable, high-end pavers and comes in timeless earth tones, giving the surface beauty and protection from deteriorating elements. At the center of the is a custom stone fireplace. This adaptation was built using locally sourced fieldstone. The fireplace is a centerpiece offering both warmth and functionality for people to gather together when they are outdoors on chilly nights. The fireplace has an ultra-modern, sleek chimney and a large hearth so that friends and family can congregate, converse, and enjoy the lovely fire. Additionally, the fireplace is surrounded by built-in seating that takes advantage of the space while being stylish and comfortable. When considering the landscaping, the team selected native plant species that are well adapted to the climate of Virginia, which gives the homeowner little to no maintenance concerns. Not only do the beautiful plantings add to the scenery and atmosphere, but they also support native biodiversity. The outdoor lighting was also carefully implemented to highlight both the fireplace and patio; therefore, the homeowner can enjoy the yard in the evening and at night. Furthermore, throughout the design and installation, the client was involved in the process to make sure the design was realized as they envisioned it. The end result thrilled the client, and their backyard is now a beautifully sophisticated outdoor space where entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying nature is the priority.
