Backyard Retreat by Premiere Landscape Design Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Premiere Landscape Design's 'Backyard Retreat' transformed a typical backyard into an extraordinary outdoor sanctuary. For this ambitious , we focused on a range of landscaping components to improve function as well as to enhance the visual appeal, responding to the client's request for a quiet, outdoor escape from their daily life. A stunning patio was the centerpiece of the retreat, built out of beautiful, locally-sourced natural stone. The stone is not only durable and fits comfortably into the surrounding environment, but it also provides a solid base for outdoor gatherings. There is a fire pit surrounded by comfortable seating for all times of the year. We built the fire pit in weather-resistant material, which enables our clients to enjoy their retreat throughout all seasons, all year long, despite coastal weather. After considering aesthetics, the team selected a variety of native plants and perennials to create different views of color and texture year-round. A curved path of crushed granite snakes through this verdant garden, inviting you to explore and enjoy. Raised beds are made from reclaimed wood, which provides a sustainable and decorative edge and makes for easy gardening. We dealt with some not-terrible site conditions with uneven ground, found some ways to level it, created some terracing, and made everything come together. We also installed an irrigation system for efficiency, so that each plant gets what it needs for water, all the while conserving water resources wherever possiblewhich was simple since our model has sustainability built into its design. The result was an amazing retreat that pleased the clients and provided the family with a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy, relax, and entertain.
