Landscaping India-Inspired Contemporary Landscape by Matthew Murrey Design Located in Preston Hollow, the 'India-Inspired Contemporary' landscaping by Matthew Murrey Design artfully combines traditional Indian designs with contemporary design philosophies. This captures the essence of Indian gardens with a tapestry of layers and a soothing landscape of plants, colors, and textures. The design features a variety of native plants, such as fragrant jasmine and ornamental grasses that sway gently in the breeze. A water feature (a reflection of an Indian lotus pond) serves as the centerpiece to the garden, with hand-selected river stones and koi swimming in the pond. Locally sourced materials, including sandstone pavers, and reclaimed wood contribute to the ’s sustainable ethos while contributing an earthy charm to the environment. A major challenge encountered during the was the hillside property with several levels that made grading seamlessly throughout the landscape quite difficult. The team deftly responded to this challenge with tiered planting beds and large boulders that contributed to both aesthetics and function. The end product is quite stunning-a peaceful retreat invited for reflection and relaxation. Cozy seating, vibrant toss cushions, and decorative lanterns create warmth, charm, and hospitality. At the end of the process, the client remarked on how incredible the transformation is and complimented the value of attention to detail, particularly in creating a modern site with rich cultural influences. The end product enhances the home with beauty, lifestyle and serenity, all reflective of India in Dallas.
