Summary: Neoclassic Inspired Garden - Matthew Murrey Design Located in the heart of Preston Hollow, the Neoclassic Inspired Garden - Matthew Murrey Design epitomizes elegance, beauty, and craftsmanship. This stunning landscape blends neoclassic aesthetic with modern usability to create an oasis for the clients to retreat. The home had an existing pool that was surrounded by shrubbery, which created a lack of usable outdoor spaces. Exotic landscapes graciously organized with boxwoods and hydrangeas were symmetry throughout, creating an homage to historical neoclassic architecture. The centerpiece of the garden is a water feature that is constructed of hand-cut limestone that flows with a gentle waterfall approach. Fixed and bluestone patio was used to create outdoor spaces with water feature as the focal point, which creates a modern and elegant feeling. Custom wrought iron railings encate outdoor spaces. One of the experiences key challenges was working with the sloped terrain and how to grade and drainage without jeopardizing design element. Using high-quality materials including granite for pillars and blocks, as well as locally sourced stone, we built tiered planters that make landscapes engaging and incorporate the slope into sustainable design. Our final success exceeded expectations and fulfilled the client outcome of creating a timeless garden appropriately looking toward the past and future.
