2015 Managers Favourite • By Green Acres Landscaping & Aquascapes In 2015 Green Acres Landscaping & Aquascapes was featured for the creation of the '2015 Managers Favorite' that truly exemplifies a quality and creative transformation. In the beautiful scenery of Anchorage, we were brought to hopefully revive a home that had seen its better days and needed some love. As a design-build team, we saw the potential to not only beautify the home with a cohesive outdoor living space, but also to fulfill the needs for functional outdoor areas for relaxation and entertainment. The landscape designed for the included native Alaskan plants chosen specifically for their hardiness and low maintenance needs. All high-end materials were used, including natural stone for the paths or patios that flowed seamlessly with the surroundings. I installed a little pond with a few water plants around that represents a quiet water feature. The biggest challenge was the contours of the property, but our experienced staff know how to level the ground to facilitate drainage and protect against future water issues. The addition of some retaining wall further improved on this by adding a visually interesting element while bringing necessary support to these newly landscaped areas. The end result was a stunning outdoor paradise which impressed the client with bright flower beds, a comfortable lounge area, and a beautiful view of the natural landscape. Not only did this win 'Managers Favorite', but it also helped to establish us as a premier landscaping service in Anchorage, Elmendorf Afb, Fort Richardson, Chugiak, Eagle River, Girdwood, and Indian. This property has become both a family meeting point and a peaceful site alone time, with great efforts made to combine practicality and aesthetics as one. Green Acres Landscaping & Aquascapes is being meticulous and going above and beyond with our work, and making every our own work of art.
