BEFORE + AFTER: THE HOME OF G Transforming Outdoor Spaces Back to Green Acres Landscaping & Aquascapes The newest one is before and after G's Residence where it proves that we are doing good work and forever pursuing something better, in Anchorage, Elmendorf Afb, Fort Richardson, Chugiak, Eagle River, Girdwood, and Indian. We started with an in-depth consultation with the homeowners to get a sense of what they were envisioning, including their must-have items for the space. The existing yard was hard to use with its sloping sand, and devoid of plantings creating anything but a lively outdoor escape that the clients were looking for. We immediately recognised the challenges that faced the site such as drainage and shading in some areas. We put a plan in place to mitigate these, all while still achieving the beauty of the landscape. Highlights of the transformation were a custom stone patio with natural flagstone that joined the house and townhouse, including a built-in fire pit for family night gatherings and evening relaxation. Along with native Alaskan plants that needed little water and care but still looked nice throughout the year. They added a quiet water feature that calms and invites local wildlife thus making the place more natural. Addressing the need for better drainage, a network of French drains were implemented to redirect surficial water from around the home, while maintaining optimal soil condition. Using the best materials and working with the best local experts to create something that lasts and is sustainable, our team put in a lot of effort building. The end result was just stunning. With this transformation delivered in the most unexpected of times, the previously neglected yard became a lush, versatile and multi-functional outdoor space that the G family can now enjoy.
