This entire landscaping contributed to the existing aesthetic of the property and provided the homeowners with a functional outdoor living area they can enjoy at any time of the year. The launched off the concept of being able to combine natural stone elements and a variety of plants into a very comfortable, tranquil space that co-exists with the surrounding environment. The faced its share of hurdles, such as leveling the sloped ground and addressing drainage issues. Our team was able to address these challenges by completing all the necessary grading and grading down and adding in a suitable drain system to sustain the landscaping features and assure long lasting enjoyment. The multi-level, locally sourced, bluestone stone patio is the centerpiece for this , as it provides ample space for family and friends to gather, eat and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. The natural stone also provides an elegant, sophisticated look that adds a great deal of character to the space while reflecting the existing natural environment nearby. Equally noteworthy are the winding paths through the lush gardens of native plants and perennials, with boulders and carefully selected natural river stones to create accessible, thoughtful pathways around the gardens. The boulders and assorted river stones selected were done so for their appearance but also enhance long-term appeal and sustainability. One of the end goals of a like this is to maximize the visual enjoyment while maximizing ecological benefits through biodiversity. To help create space for even more enjoyment, we created more inviting areas of seating and a fire pit made from large, natural boulders to further improve the experience of relaxing in the outdoors at night. Lastly, we placed LED pathway lights and carefully place lights mounted directly to the stone work, so that guests can easily navigate to and from without getting lost or tripping, while distinguishing features can be pointed out and illuminated after dark. The end result is a beautiful backyard space that provides the function of entertaining family and friends while having a piece of art to gaze at and enjoy while escaping from the greater world that typically surrounds us.
