Winchester Fire Pit - Village Stonesmith Gardens & Masonry Village Stonesmith Gardens & Masonry was proud to successfully complete a fire pit in the heart of Winchester; a that is functional as well as beautiful. Covering a wide spectrum from Belmont to Greater New England, our team was charged with creating an outdoor "hang out"-type space with the understanding our clients gathered family and friends on a regular basis. The began with a full site analysis; we needed to establish the best location for the fire pit, to include as components sun, wind, and existing landscaping. Our talented stone artisans chose to work with beautiful locally quarried stone, and created a classic fire pit using a mixture of natural granite and flagstone, to create a design that was durable and dynamic. Designed as a circle, the fire pit had comfortable seating walls to attract friends and family and facilitate conversation and warmth. One challenge with the fire pit was to fit it into the existing landscape of the property, which included mature trees and a natural slope. The fire pit was designed to accommodate these features, and through planning and design, produced a step-down seating area, which resulted in maximum seating and also preserved the beauty of the landscaping. The final product was beyond our clients' expectations! The fire pit was placed and surrounded with beautiful ornamental grasses and appropriate perennials, making it the centerpiece of their outdoor sanctuary. Soft landscape lighting allows for evenings under the stars, and is comfortable and artistic in its design. The fire pit itself was a seamless blending of stone craftsmanship and the beauty of natural surroundings, embodying our values of quality and client satisfaction. Whether roasting marshmallows or sharing good stories, the fire pit is a space that serves as our clients' valued extension of their home, and is designed for memories.
