Dorchester Yard Renovation Village Stonesmith Gardens & Masonry is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 'Dorchester Yard Renovation’ a landscape renovation that transformed outdoor living in this lovely neighborhood of Greater New England. We pride ourselves on exceptional workmanship, and the Dorchester Yard Renovation was evident of our commitment to quality work in every detail. To facilitate the landscape vision, we designed a wide-ranging hardscape and softscape landscape environment. We installed a beautiful natural-stone-bluestone pathway made from locally sourced bluestone. The bluestone path elegantly meanders through the yard to a newly designed patio area, suited for gathering friends and family around a newly built fire pit, with weather-resilient seating. To create a vibrant and lively landscape we carefully curated several native plants into the design, including ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs that not only promoted a beautiful appearance but provided habitat for native wildlife. The placement of the plants was thoughtfully arranged to ensure optimal sunlight exposure and to provide varying visual interest throughout the seasons. One notable challenge of the renovation process was the unbalanced layout of the yard requiring grading and drainage to limit pooling and erosion of the soil. Our expert staff generated an appealing landscape design using effective landscaping solutions, such as a french drain system. The finished result culminated in a beautiful landscape that exceeded our client’s expectations. The blend of sophisticated hardscaping with thoughtfully chosen plantings and practical solutions create a peaceful space for relaxation with family and friends. Our clients were thrilled that the renovation not only added value to their property, but it also generated an oasis for them to share family and friendships!
