Snoop's Garden by Hess Landscape Architects Located in Lansdale, Snoop's Garden is a remarkable example of the skill and creativity of Hess Landscape Architects. This landscape was designed to develop an outdoor space for a family that enjoys both beauty and sustainability, and have a peaceful, usable outdoor area. The materials chosen for the included a combination of native plants: perennial flowers, ornamental grasses, and evergreen shrubs to provide year-round aesthetic appeal while benefiting local biodiversity. Natural stone pathways and a charming flagstone patio, all locally-sourced materials, were incorporated into the design and complemented the garden’s appeal as well as provided a functional surface for family gatherings. One of the challenges of the site involved terracing an uneven landscape surface. Hess Landscape Architects created tiered plant beds that would provide proper drainage while creating layers for visual interest. Additionally, a rain garden was added to accommodate stormwater runoff, maximizing the 's sustainable and environmental qualities. A custom wooden pergola creates a shaded space for outdoor dining and relaxation with climbing vines. Light was purposely included throughout to illuminate pathways, and highlight garden features at night. The direct outcome is a balance of beauty and functionality that honors our clients' vision and lifestyle. Snoop's Garden is truly a great space for family gatherings, peaceful moments and local wildlife.
