Modscapes by Deep Rooted Designs, Inc. Introducing: ‘Modscapes’ to you now by Deep Rooted Designs, Inc. a landscaping remodel where we transformed outdoor living for our San Diego clients. Hidden in the colorful community of La Jolla and Mission Hills, this balances a modern look while using several sustainable strategies to create an inviting oasis. The balanced mix of native planting, modern hardscaping, and water-saving irrigation systems are the signature ingredients of the Modscapes . Using local stone for path & retaining wall, we created a picturesque landscape that blends in with the native surroundings. Drought-tolerant plants create beauty, biodiversity, and decrease water use. Working with the uneven terrain was one of the factors we had to tackle. Using local materials, our talented landscapers levelled and terraced the earth creating separate zones for entertaining, leisurely, and growing vegetables. With well-placed native trees that provide shade while not breaking sightlines, this open space feels both large and intimate at the same time. The end product is a smooth continuation of the home with a contemporary fire pit space uninterrupted by greenery, a family-targeted bespoke backyard kitchen, and a meditation nook lost amongst flowering shrubs. Our clients were thrilled with the renovation, saying that the Modscapes terrace improved the eden not just visually but also as a place to spend time outdoors.
