Lakeside Outdoor Remodel by Deep Rooted Designs, Inc. The Lakeside Outdoor Remodel took the space between a beautiful lake and a house in the Boston suburbs, and turned an underused backyard into a gorgeous backyard. Deep Rooted Designs, Inc. faced the task of designing a perfect balance of form and function in creating this space so that it could be a retreat to relax and unwind, and a place to entertain from within, serving the communities of Del Mar, La Jolla and Mission Hills. The wide deck was constructed from sustainably harvested ipe, providing an attractive and long-lasting surface for outdoor activities. We installed a well designed seamless glass railings so as to allow unobstructed views of the lake while providing safety. Encircling the deck native plant gardens near-moat the area were created using local drought resistant plants to add aesthetics but also criticial homes for local wildlife. The scope of the challenges began with the topography of the property and I had to come up with a creative grading approach to cut tiered planting beds that provided visual interest and complexity. Our professional crew went to work using natural stone boulders to create retaining walls that blend seamlessly into the natural landscape and act as the supporting walls for the garden beds. The remodel revolved around including a peaceful water feature, a gently pouring waterfall into a cascading pond. This peaceful water feature not only complemented the listening and sound experience of the area but also attracted local birds and butterflies to the setting. We are pleased with the end result, and so was our client, who now has a nice outdoor space around the house that can quickly change from a bland yard to an enjoyable living area, ideal for reunions around the family or a top rated glass of wine watching the lake at the end of the day. Deep Rooted Designs, Inc. paid close attention to every detail, and with quality craftsmanship delivered the final product, a beautiful Southern California living style landscape.
