North Park Craftsman Xeriscape Deep Rooted Designs, Inc. is pleased to showcase the North Park Craftsman Xeriscapea beautiful change to a residential landscape that combines splendor with sustainability. Located in the heart of North Park, this is the culmination of your commitment to responsible landscape practices while simultaneously increasing the curb appeal of your home! The design focused on xeriscaping elements, using various drought-tolerant and native plants while implemented efficient irrigation practices to improve water conservation. We use colorful succulent plants, ornamental grasses, and established perennial plants to create a fun landscape experience that also has year-long appeal and requires very little maintenance. We used gravel sourced from the area and installed a decomposed granite pathway with decorative boulders to feel beautiful, proper draining and avoid erosion. One of the biggest challenges was the existing soil, which was so compacted that it affected the health and growth of the plants we put down. Our team amended the soil with organic compost material and employed a layered-planting method that assisted in creating deep root systems, thereby, increasing plant diversity and health in the overall landscape. The finished product is a beautiful xeriscape that emulates the craftsman architecture of the home. The robust yet water-efficent garden depicts the San Diego living and welcomes residents and visitors to enjoy.
