Rye Waterfront Pool and Landscape Client: Sean Jancski Landscape Architects LLC Location: Rye, New York The Rye Waterfront Pool and Landscape is a beautiful showcase of the work of Sean Jancski Landscape Architects LLC. Situated on the lovely waterfront in Rye, this seamlessly integrates upscale outdoor living into its surrounding landscape. The centerpiece of the landscape is a large, custom-designed swimming pool facing the water, with upper coping in natural stone that melds beautifully with the setting. The pool area is surrounded by lovely low-maintenance plantings of native grasses and perennials that add four-season interest without demanding excessive maintenance. High-quality materials were used throughout the , including crew-set travertine pavers, ensuring the space will provide aesthetic value and utility throughout all four seasons. One of the 's major design concerns was how to deal with the site's slope, and managing drainage so water would not wash out the surrounding planting beds. We had a series of terraced gardens engineered by our team to mitigate these concerns while creating inviting space to relax and entertain. The terraced gardens have natural boulders for seating and color with plant selections that once again highlight the site. Finally, we included a large patio that serves as an extension of the home with an outdoor kitchen and dining area, perfect for family life and friend gatherings. Included in this space are features of lights and fire that make the transition to evening cozy and engaging, with dramatic lighting qualities that contribute to quality outdoor living space. The end result is a beautiful waterfront getaway that the client and family cherish.
