Drought Tolerant Nature Garden The Drought Tolerant Nature Garden, by The Aldrich Company - Landscape Design, exemplifies sustainable landscaping that balances beauty and thoughtful design for the environment. Located in beautiful Santa Barabara, this would put an experienced lip to the test to create an active outdoor space that would flourish in the local environmental realms including areas like Carpinteria, Goleta, and Montecito. To do that, the design implements a vast variety of native and drought tolerant plants that might include California poppies, lavender, and succulents forming a coloration of textures that embodies a wild tapestry while limiting reliance on city water. The Aldrich Company used permeable paving stones to develop natural walkways to spur interaction, while boulders and mulch beds added to the natural feel of the garden. The biggest challenge was determining the light exposure throughout the garden. They made careful plant choices for each zone ensuring resiliency and color throughout the year. Lastly, a drip irrigation system was implemented to provide even water application to limit excess water usage furthering the s sustainability. The resulting Drought Tolerant Nature Garden not only satisfied the client, but it created a retreat that reflects the natural beauty of associated landscapes in Summerland and Hope Ranch. The and craftsmanship demonstrated by The Aldrich Company, brought this outdoor space to a desert sanctuary to enjoy, complimenting Mother Nature while supporting responsible water use to earn enthusiastic praise from the thrilled client.
