About This Project

Mesa Road, Montecito Located in the heart of Montecito, the Aldrich Company - Landscape Design's 'Mesa Road' captures the balance between nature and sophistication. The expansive landscape of the residence was designed to enhance its natural beauty while creating a delicate retreat for the homeowners. The features an exceptionally laid-out plan that emphasized beautiful native drought-resistant plants reflective of the ecology of the area, with an abundance of lush succulents, fragrant herbs, and colorful flowering perennials to provide year-round interest. Local flagstone was also used for walkways to create seamless transitions from each section of the residence's stunning garden. We built custom redwood planters for greater functionality and character. A more significant challenge we faced was the elevation of the property and we had to get creative with terracing to achieve usable flat spaces that would help with water runoff. Our team developed a tiered garden that helped with drainage while creating otherwise inviting areas to sit and entertain. The finished landscape is an incredible outdoor space that includes a tranquil koi pond, a custom fire pit with seating, and a productive vegetable garden that encourages sustainable living. The homeowners were excited and particularly enjoyed how the landscape reflects their lifestyle and offers beauty and utility. From an aesthetic, craftsmanship, and attention to detail standpoint, we were most proud of what we brought to life in this for the homeowners and to the Montecito community. The Aldrich Company is proud to have completed a landscape that exceeded our client's expectations as we continue to provide excellence in every we do from Carpinteria, Goleta, Mission Canyon, Santa Barbara and beyond.
