San Ysidro Lane, Montecito The Aldrich Company - Landscape Design is proud to present the San Ysidro Lane , an impressive landscape restoration in the heart of Montecito. Our quality and attention to detail is evident in this landscape that preserves and enhances the natural beauty of the site while keeping the immediate surroundings in mind. The landscaping blends native and drought-tolerant plants chosen for their hardy nature yet colorful appearance. Colorful and hardy succulents, fragrant herbs, and colorful and hardy flowering perennials were placed throughout on a colorful tapestry that will bloom throughout the seasons of the year. Stone pathways made of local flagstone meander through the landscape providing an inviting way to get lost in the garden's beauty and echoing the rustic charms of Montecito. A difficult aspect of the property was the slopes we encountered which demanded solutions for drainage and soil sustenance. We designed terraced garden beds around several large boulders and reclaimed wood retaining walls that also nicely reflected the shapes of the landscape and kept the soil intact. The included designing and installing custom irrigation with a focus on conservation. We recognize the importance of securing plant life both in beauty and health while conserving the life within the surrounding ecology as well. The finished product is a gorgeous outdoor sanctuary that captures tranquility and sophistication. The garden includes shady yet open seating areas and a bubbling water feature that further promotes relaxation and peace of mind. The client was thrilled with how the property transformed into a usable and restorative environment. The Aldrich Company attained a critical balance of functionality and aesthetics. This is a testament to the passion of The Aldrich Company to create remarkable landscapes in Montecito and the surrounding regions of Carpinteria, Goleta, Mission Canyon, Santa Barbara, Summerland, Toro Canyon, and Hope Ranch.
