Conceptual Plan for Carpinteria, CA The Aldrich Company | Landscape Design was proud to present the 'Conceptual Plan for Carpinteria, CA,' a transformative landscaping that captures the spirit of the California coast. We were engaged to develop an outdoor living space that is complementary to the existing landscape while embracing our client's ideals of creating an overall sense of retreat. This unique consisted of an intentional layout showcasing an assemblage of native drought-tolerant plants that provided character while remaining sustainable. Materials used, such as local stone and reclaimed wood, were chosen to fit harmoniously within the hardscape and overall environment. A meandering pathway created with permeable pavers not only added interest to the landscape, but the design also addressed drainage challenges, allowing rainwater to filter back into the ground naturally. One of the biggest hurdles we faced was a site with grading that was less than ideal. We recognized this required creatively addressing the challenges of moving dirt around to create level surfaces for seating and entertainment. Our talented team worked our magic using our expertise, creating a functional and appealing landscape by moving dirt around. Ultimately, we ended up with a beautifully designed outdoor space with a custom fire pit surrounded by comfortable seating to enjoy on mild summer evenings. The final design included colorful flowering plants arranged in a way to provide pops of color, while also attracting pollinators, allowing for a sense of ecological balance. An added water accompaniment provided a soothing edge for inviting tranquility. Once completed, the client could not have been happier with their newly transformed home. They expressed that the new landscape met, and exceeded, all expectations. Working with the Aldrich Company, the client was exposed the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail that this particular organization prides itself on, leaving this to the test of time for durability in landscape design.
