Matunuck Hills Residence Here at Matunuck Design Group Inc., we take immense pride in our ability to convert outdoor spaces into picturesque landscapes that improve the look and functionality of homes. The Matunuck Hills Residence represents this mission perfectly, as we successfully created an outdoor oasis tucked away in the beautiful hills of Rhode Island. Over two acres, the was a complete landscape redesign for the property, focusing on sustainability and aesthetics. Due to the topography of the site which created issues in regards to drainage and soil stability, our team was initially tasked with finding the right solution. We proposed to install a natural stone retaining wall to help alleviate the drainage issue while also creating a beautiful feature in the landscape. To accentuate the beauty of the residence, we added native plant species that thrive in New England, providing biodiversity while reducing water usage. We provided a unique plant palette that featured a collection of native flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and perennial plants that bloom in sequence throughout the growing season. An inviting pathway with reclaimed granite pavers meanders through the property from the driveway to the newly designed outdoor living area. In this area, we created a large patio with custom stone seating that is perfect for family reunions and entertaining. In addition, we designed a fire pit framed in native boulder, allowing the homeowners to take advantage of the outdoor space during cooler weather as well. Quality craftsmanship was demonstrated in every aspect of the , from the clean stonework to the harmonious combination of paving and planting. We successfully completed the on time and within budget, despite winter weather delays and supply chain obstacles, thanks to expert management. The end product is a unified landscape that reflects the spirit of Matunuck Hills, bringing the homeowners continuous joy and tranquility within the retreat of their home.
