Narragansett Residence II Matunuck Design Group Inc. presents Narragansett Residence II, a wonderful landscaping that showcases the natural beauty and coastal style of Rhode Island. With a tranquil neighborhood backdrop, this home embodies the ultimate combination of form and function, meeting the client's vision. The outdoor living space was expertly designed, including a custom-built stone patio that integrates into the existing architecture. The outdoor living space designed to use locally-sourced bluestone, created a welcoming experience for entertaining as well as a dignified seating wall with fire pits for year-round use. The intentional placement of native plants enhances the landscaping and sustainability, specifically designed to thrive in the local climate with low maintenance needs. One of the most significant challenges included elevation changes on-site and the rocky conditions were explicitly challenging. Employing innovative grading techniques and retaining walls, we created tiered garden beds with adequate drainage through healthy soils and native native plantings. Not only did this protect the property, but it also added visual interest through heights and textures. To complement the hardscaping designs, a diverse palette of perennials, ornamental grasses, and evergreen shrubs were planted for seasonal color and structure. Safety and ambiance lighting were improved with the addition of solar pathway lighting as a sustainable way to light pathways while showcasing the landscaping beauty in the nighttime. The final product of Narragansett Residence II is a stunning refuge with coastal inspired New England living. The client was ecstatic with the and commented on how our team found a nice balance of nature and design.
