Country Farm House by a Blade of Grass Located in a picturesque rural area, the landscaping of the 'Country Farm House' designed by A Blade of Grass reflects a wonderful balance of nature and functionality. Now serving clients throughout Acton, Belmont, Boston, Cambridge, and beyond, our team rose to the challenge of reshaping this massive property into a stunning opulent, yet sustainable, oasis. It involved planning native plant gardens, a meandering stone path that led into a social fire pit area, and a colorful vegetable garden for family use. We used local materials like granite boulders and reclaimed wood to build raised garden beds that provide both beauty and sustainability. A major challenge were landscaping because the land was at different heights. We had to use creative grading and drainage practices so water would flow exactly how we wanted to, without eroding the pathways. We went to work with our talented team, applying terraced landscapes around the yard with natural stone retaining walls to achieve environmental harmony without sacrificing support and visual attraction. The end product is a beautiful outdoor area that leaves the client smiling and makes a lovely addition to their country residence. Bountiful, colorful perennials bloom year-round, and thoughtfully positioned seating areas allow visitors the chance to take a moment to relax and connect with nature. This improves on the natural landscape of the property and provides an attractive area for family gatherings and those languid mid-afternoon weekends.
