Eclectic Styled Gardens The 'Eclectic Styled Gardens' was successfully completed by Park Slope Design, underscoring our commitment to unite nature and art through imaginative interventions that enhance outdoor living areas for everyday respite. We traveled to some of the most beautiful places imaginable like Santa Fe, Tesuque, Taos, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, and Culver City, happily honoring the local character and environment by addressing each site as a unique opportunity to connect with the landscape. This integrated a wide range of landscape elements, including native plants, hand-picked stone paths, and serene water features while keeping with the eclectic style. By utilizing local materials, we ensured longevity and sustainability in design and aesthetics. Our craftspeople built custom seating areas out of reclaimed wood and wrought iron into the property inviting our clients to relax and socialize. One of the main challenges we sought to overcome was how to efficiently integrate the different topographies from courtyard to courtyard while also maintaining a cohesive design. We were able to find the balance stemming from imaginative grading solutions and planting considerations, which ultimately created a flow around the properties that both invited the eye and aided usability. Each courtyard was also designed with an effective irrigation system to maintain the lushness of plants in warmer months. Ultimately, the end result was a delighted client that could now enjoy finds from travelling - expanding use of their properties into serene retreats for entertaining and relaxing with eclectic, adaptive, compositional beauty infused with local character.
