Rooftop Landscape Masterwork / San Rafael A Garden Nest Here is the by Garden Nest Residential Landscape San Rafael landscaping which perfectly embodies one of our main principles at Garden Nest that is designing pretty outdoor spaces that feels as a retreat in the backyard of suburbs. Carefully crafted to embrace the topography and climate of the Bay Area, design features aimed to provide both beauty as well as functionality to an outdoor living space. The clients were looking for a harmonious combination of contemporary sophistication and natural charm, so we designed the gardens to include a great mix of landscaping elements - from colourful native planting and an ornamental water feature to an outdoor entertainment area all designed to further compliment and enhance their home and outdoor space. We chose drought-tolerant plants in keeping with California water conservation goals including beautiful California lilacs and manzanitas. For example, we worked to flatten this land into an even grading in order to create a balanced layout. We also tried to use good materials (natural stone for pathways and patios) so that everything would be very durable and blend with the environment. The space was originally nothing but concrete with a small awning but with the addition of a custom-built pergola to shade it and create the perfect place to eat and relax outside. The end result is a breathtaking landscape that exceeded all of our clients expectations. The idyllic combination of colours, textures and shapes [made] a serene oasis for relaxation and socialising. We take pride in every detail of our work, and this in San Rafael is no exception, our clients are overjoyed with their new outdoor sanctuary, of which the Garden Nest team crafted.
