Ponderosa Landscaping & Stonework, Truro Oceanside Home Located along the beautiful coastline of Truro, the Truro Oceanside Home by Ponderosa Landscaping & Stonework represents a seamless blend of natural beauty and a functional design. Our team took on the challenge of creating an outdoor oasis that would match the coastal landscape. We began the with a full site analysis, recognizing the unique characteristics of the property, such as sandy soils, and high salt exposure. To ensure durability and longevity, we chose high-quality materials, including locally sourced granite boulders for long-lasting pathways and natural stone retaining walls that echoed the robust and rugged character of the coastline. The expansive patio area we designed utilizes maintenance-free composite decking, and bluestone pavers which create an ideal entertaining area with beautiful views of the ocean. Native plants, such as beach grass and seaside goldenrod, provide beauty while promoting sustainability, using very little water and maintenance while growing beautifully in the coastal environment. Drainage was one of the significant challenges we faced to mitigate the erosion/storage from water pooling in heavy rains. Our skilled team devised a drainage plan which featured drains, French drains, and permeable pavers to control water flow to keep your outdoor escape pristine and functional all year round. The final product is a magnificent outdoor haven featuring tiered gardens, a water feature, and colorful flower beds which bloom vibrantly throughout the seasons. Our clients loved the transformation and told us how happy they were the design, as it matched the architecture of their home and allowed them to enjoy the beauty of Truro's coast.
