The Harwich Mosaic Patio by Ponderosa Landscaping & Stonework is located in Harwich, Cape Cod, an example of the creativity and artistry that the Ponderosa brand is known for throughout the Cape. The customers wanted a patio that would integrate with the natural landscape and had the characteristics of a mosaic patio. The patio is made from a bright and dense mosaic pattern of locally quarried natural stone, such as granite, bluestone, and slate. The process started with site assessment to address the particular topography and drainage issues of the lot. The crew did the excavation and grading to ensure proper water drainage without pooling and erosion. They even went so far as to hand lay the stones to create the design of the mosaic patterns that will not only appeal to the eye, but also serve as a rugged surface for years to come. To finish the around the patio, native plants were planted to establish achievement within the hardscape and landscape. Accompanied with the soft sounds of a custom built fountain feature, they were pleased with the design because it created a place of quiet refuge. The end result was more than the client could have imagined; it provided the functionality and artistry they had wished for.
