Wellesley Estate The Wellesley Estate by 'a Blade of Grass' serves as a reflection of that commitment located in the heart of Wellesley, Massachusetts. This multi-acre property was built into a gorgeous outdoor sanctuary that melds nature with functionality. Our team carefully developed a conceptual landscape design that integrates a combination of native plant species, ornamental trees and flowering plant beds, creating a cohesive design that complements the architecture of the Estate. With careful materials selections from local stone for the pathways and patios to make sure the aesthetics of the landscape lasts it through the New England weather patterns. This mostly took place on a slope, which is one of the main challenges we faced. Tiered garden beds handled the grade, and our landscape architects used them to create layers of beautiful greenery. In addition to the style of the house, we also designed a beautiful outdoor kitchen and a large patio area for entertaining and family use. We also incorporated an advanced irrigation system to support these verdant gardens grow year-round with minimal upkeep. Using what nature offered as the existing landscape, our team carefully balanced the challenges of new design elements with their surroundings to facilitate the transition in a seamless manner that did not take away from the natural character of the estate. The end result is a stunning landscape in which to enjoy for the homeowner both to increase the curb appeal to the home and also to offer an oasis for the homeowner. Our client was thrilled with the new look, and took the time to praise the design neutrality that comes from marrying the two different aesthetic worlds. The estate now happily displays our commitment to landscaping quality and innovation while mirroring the beauty of its surroundings and catering to the need of the family dwelling in it.
