About This Project

Sylvanus Marston Mediterranean Sylvanus Marston Mediterranean | Gabriela Yariv Landscape Design located in Pasadena Balancing classic Mediterranean design with the topography of Southern California, this landscape design creates a captivating oasis that stirs the senses. The uses a balanced palette of indigenous drought tolerant plants like bougainvillea, lavender and olive trees, arranged to create seasonal interest and beauty throughout the year while minimizing water resources. An undulating path of custom cut terracotta and natural stone meanders through the verdant garden culminating in a welcoming courtyard with a peaceful fountain as the focal point of the outdoor living area. One of the major challenges during the was incorporating the changes within terrain elevation with the Mediterranean theme. Using terraced planting beds and stone walls that flow in and out of the buildings, our team artfully created the garden so that it was both continuous and contained. Raised planters made with reclaimed wood gives a lot of character while also fitting in with our sustainability criteria. The end result is a stunning landscape that embodies the vision of a Mediterranean getaway for the client. As with all of her s, the Sylvanus Marston is now a hub not just for beautiful entertaining indoors, but also outdoors with wonderful outdoor seating areas framed by fragrant jasmine and night-blooming cereus. Our outdoor oasis was built once again with superb quality and craftmanship by Gabriela Yariv Landscape Design who makes sure this space will be working for decades headed forward.
