About This Project

Bel Air Contemporary Gemquest has spent over a decade curating functional beauty for some of the most luxurious hotels, restaurants, and private residences in the world from their Los Angeles headquarters, and it's the award-winning 'Bel Air Contemporary' , as completed by Gabriela Yariv Landscape Design, that really puts nature at one with modern elegance. Set within the sought-after confines of Bel Air, this yard re-development was a thoughtful process marrying the desires of the client with the realities of the site. It showcases beautiful native plants and drought tolerant landscaping selected for their low maintenance, aesthetic and ecological benefits. The outdoor areas featured an eye-catching contrast of rough stones, clean concrete paths, and sustainably-sourced hardwood decking, giving a modern foundation with a warm expression. The steep topography of the site was one of the key challenges we had to address here. To resolve this, our team designed a series of meticulously tiered terraces that were not only aesthetically pleasing but provided operable outdoor living rooms. Not only did this provide different planting zones all thriving in lush flora but it also dictated spectacular vistas to be enjoyed throughout the landscape. Delicately placed, modern water features, such as a looking pool, waterfall and other calming elements were integrated to provide a relaxing atmosphere. Durable materials were deliberately sourced such as natural stone for the water feature as well as custom-made timber trellises to harmonize with the contemporary dwelling. The outcome was an irresistible outdoor retreat that wasn't only fulfilled the the demands of the client, but went beyond it. The homeowners were thrilled with how modern aesthetic blended in perfectly within the natural vegetative landscape and ended up with a beautiful area to host and relax. Gabriela Yariv Landscape Design's 'Bel Air Contemporary' showcases high standards of quality and creativity in addition to design with sustainability in mind for one of Los Angeles' most elite communities.
