This multilayered effort beautifully merges the desirability of a functioning property with exceptional craftsmanship and approach to design. The centers around the wonderfully-designed hardscape, which was adorned with elegant bluestone patios, contrasting nicely with the lush natural background. The use of permeable pavers provides an additional asset to the property appeals to eye, while solving drainage issues and increasing sustainability and utility of the property. A selection of native variety of non-flowering perennials and several ornamental shrubs were incorporated into the space, to promote biodiversity with minimum upkeep. One of the most visible features of the is the customized fire pit area that invites family gatherings throughout the seasons. Seating clustered pleasantly around the southern exposure of the property creates attractive escapes from which families can enjoy their natural habitat. The features a delightful water feature, which offered not only an attractive reference point, but also all of the soothing qualities of overheard flowing water. Sean Jancski Landscape Architects LLC encountered several challenges throughout the process, including issues of terrain and the need for erosion control. These obstacles were negotiated successfully to the advantage of all by implementing terracing techniques and deploying pieces of a natural stone retaining wall, serving to tie together and unify the beauty of the remaining spaces. In the end, the result was a created outdoor oasis that reflected the client's vision while adding value to the property. The effort, aesthetic expression, functionality, and attention to responsible edge land practice has delighted the client and given Sean Jancski Landscape Architects LLC an opportunity to further express their artistic and horticultural capabilities.
